The Anne Arundel County Public Law Library and the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County will be closed on the court holidays of Friday, December 23rd, Monday, December 26th, and Monday, January 2nd.

Law Library is closed for the Columbus Day Holiday

The Law Library is closed today, Monday, October 10, 2022, for the Columbus Day holiday.  Read about the holiday at History.com.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day is also celebrated on the second Monday in October. There was a Presidential Proclamation in 2021 recognizing Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Anne Arundel County Resolution 41-20 was passed in 2020 recognizing Monday, October 12, 2020 as Indigenous Peoples’ Day in Anne Arundel County.

H.R. 5473 was introduced but not passed in the United States Congress last year “to designate Indigenous Peoples’ Day as a legal public holiday and replace the term “Columbus Day” with the term “Indigenous Peoples’ Day.”

Records of the indigenous peoples of Maryland can be found at the Mayis Indigenous Records site of the Maryland archives.

The Law Library will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Except on Court Holidays, the Library is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. A list of Court Holidays is available on the Circuit Court’s website

Anne Arundel County Public Law Library Closed for Memorial Day

The Anne Arundel County Public Law Library and the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County will be closed today, May 30, 2022 for the Memorial Day holiday.  The Law Library and the Court will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, May 31, 2022.  Except on Court Holidays, the Library is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. A list of Court Holidays can be found at mdcourts.gov.

Law Library closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday

The Law Library, the Family Court Help Center,  and the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County are closed today November 25, 2021 and tomorrow, November 26, 2021 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  The Law Library will reopen on Monday, November 29, 2021. Except on Court Holidays, the Library is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Law Library Closed for Memorial Day

Law Library services will be unavailable today, May 25, 2020 for the Memorial Day holiday.  The Law Library will be available via phone and email tomorrow, Tuesday, May 26, 2020.  Except on Court Holidays, the Library is open – virtually these days – Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. A list of Court Holidays is available on the Circuit Court’s website’s list of Court Holidays.

Law Library Closed for Veterans Day

The Law Library and the Anne Arundel County Circuit Court are closed today, November 12, 2018 in observance of Veterans Day.  The law library and court will reopen on Tuesday, November 13. Except on Court Holidays, the Library is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. A list of Court Holidays is available on the Circuit Court’s website at http://www.circuitcourt.org/court-holidays.

Veterans Day was originally known as Armistice Day, commemorating the end of World War I.  This year marks 100 years since the end of that war. In 1954, the name of the holiday was changed to Veterans Day to honor veterans of all wars.  Read more here.

Election Day: Law Library Closed

The Law Library and the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County will be closed today, November 6, 2018 for Election Day and will reopen on Wednesday, November 7, 2018

For information on the 2018 Maryland general election please visit the website of the  Maryland State Board of Elections. There you can everything you need to know for election day on your voter lookup page – from verifying your voter registration, finding your polling pace or reviewing your sample ballot.

Election results will  be available from the Maryland State Board of Elections and the local boards of elections.​
